Bathroom LED Strip Lights

Every light is cut to your length. House of LEDs is a bespoke lighting company: made-to-measure LED lighting for any domestic or commercial project.

Bathroom LED Strip Lighting in the UK is governed by BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition) which divides bathrooms into zones with minimum IP requirements (Regulation 701.512.2 sets at least IPX4 in zones 1 and 2, IPX5 where water jets are likely). Zones inside the bath or shower itself require immersion-rated protection.

House of LEDs recommends IP67 throughout bathroom LED strip installations and IP68 where the product may be exposed to direct water contact or submersion — a safety margin above the BS 7671 minimum, sized for UK humidity, steam, and the typical lifespan of a renovation. Final specification should always be confirmed by a Part P registered electrician.

Never use 220V or 240V mains-voltage LED strip in a bathroom — only 12V, 24V, or 48V DC.

Made to Measure. Send us the bathroom layout — shower position, mirror size, niche dimensions — and we'll specify a product set that comfortably exceeds BS 7671 zone minimums.

Bathroom zones — BS 7671 minimum vs HoL recommendation

  • Zone 0 (in shower/bath water contact) — BS 7671: immersion-rated · HoL: IP68
  • Zone 1 (above bath/shower up to 2.25m) — BS 7671: IPX4/IPX5 · HoL: IP67
  • Zone 2 (600mm outside bath/shower) — BS 7671: IPX4 · HoL: IP67
  • Outside all zones — HoL: IP67 for UK humidity

Best for: Mirror surrounds, shower niches, vanity lighting, coving in bathrooms.
Avoid if: Mains-voltage 220V/240V strip — never appropriate for bathrooms.
