At House of LEDs, we specialise in high-quality outdoor garden lights, including IP67 and IP68 rated LED neon flex. Built for durability and flexibility, our neon flex achieves sharp 90-degree bends with a small bending radius, making it perfect for seamless integration into decking designs.
When installing lights for decking, it’s essential to choose fully waterproof options. Our IP67 and IP68 rated products are engineered to withstand the unpredictable British weather while maintaining style and efficiency.
Whether you’re upgrading a compact balcony or a large countryside deck, our decking LED lights provide reliable, long-lasting illumination that combines durability, energy efficiency, and contemporary design.
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of LED decking lights do you sell?
We supply a wide range of decking lighting solutions including 24V and 48V LED neon flex, which are ideal for long continuous runs (up to 20m on 24V and up to 50m on 48V). These are perfect for outlining decking perimeters or steps with a seamless line of light. We also stock IP-rated recessed LED deck lights in various sizes and finishes. For safety reasons, 220V lights should not be installed on decking floors – low-voltage 24V/48V options are the correct choice.
Are your LED decking lights waterproof?
Yes – our decking lights are designed for long-lasting outdoor use. We recommend a minimum rating of IP67 or IP68, which means they are fully sealed against dust and water ingress, making them suitable for rain, splashes, and wet conditions. IP65 lights should not be used in exposed decking installations, as they are only splash-proof and not designed for heavy rain or standing water.
How do I install LED decking lights?
Installation depends on the product. Solar lights are the easiest – just secure them in place and let the sun do its thing. For 12V systems, you’ll need to connect them to a low-voltage transformer, while 24V and 48V neon flex require a suitable LED driver. Many of our recessed deck lights are designed to fit neatly into pre-drilled holes for a flush finish. For safety, we always recommend a qualified electrician for mains wiring.
Can LED neon flex lights bend around corners?
Yes! Our LED neon flex lights are designed for flexibility. Depending on the model, they can achieve 90° bending angles and sharp corners, while others allow smoother curves. This makes them perfect for following decking edges, creating custom shapes, or highlighting unique designs. Always check the product’s bending orientation (horizontal or vertical) to suit your installation.
Do you sell coloured LED decking lights?
Absolutely! Warm white and cool white are our most popular choices, but we also supply blue decking lights which look fantastic around pools, ponds, or hot tubs. For full flexibility, our RGB decking lights let you switch colours to match your mood or event.
Can I use LED decking lights near a pool or hot tub?
Yes – but you’ll need to choose the right IP rating. For wet or humid areas, we recommend IP67 or IP68 products, which can handle splashing and damp environments. Our 12V low-voltage options are especially safe for poolside use. Power supplies must always be installed in dry, protected locations away from direct water exposure.
How long do LED decking lights last?
Our LED decking lights are designed to last between 30,000 and 50,000 hours of use – that’s more than 10 years of evening lighting. They don’t suddenly fail like traditional bulbs; instead, they gradually dim over time, giving you plenty of notice when replacements are due.
Can I control my decking lights with my phone?
Yes! We offer smart decking lights that can connect to your WiFi. Using an app, you can adjust brightness, change colours on RGB models, set schedules, or sync with your smart home system. Many options are also compatible with Alexa and Google Home.
