Under Shelf COB LED Strip | 480 LEDs/m 9W 8.33mm Cut 15m 24V IP20

Under shelf strip lighting lives or dies on how exactly it fits. This 10mm-wide COB strip cuts every 8.33mm, the finest pitch in the range, so a 742mm oak floating shelf takes a light line that stops within millimetres of the edge.

The strip carries 480 LEDs per metre at 9W/m, runs on 24V DC and is rated IP20 for indoor dry use only. Five colour temperatures cover 2700K and 3000K warm white, 4000K natural, 5000K daylight and 6500K cool white. One run reaches 15 metres — a full wall of alcove shelving from a single feed.

Why does 480 LEDs/m give the smoothest line on open shelving?

Because 480 LEDs per metre sit beneath one continuous phosphor coating, the output reads as a dot-free band rather than a row of points. Open shelving holds the strip near eye level with no door or frame to screen it, so any dotting would show on the spines and glassware below.

Sit in a low chair opposite a bookshelf and you look straight at the light source. A dotted strip scallops shadows down the back board; this one does not. On a 300mm-deep display shelf the 10mm width tucks behind the front lip, softer again inside one of our aluminium profiles.

What does the 8.33mm cut interval mean when I size a shelf?

It means the strip lands within 8.33mm of any shelf length you have. A 1,000mm shelf gives 120 cut points, so the finished run sits under a third of a centimetre from each end. Coarser cut pitches force you to round down and leave a visible dark tail.

A 420mm alcove shelf takes 50 segments and finishes roughly 4mm shy — invisible once fitted to the shelf underside. Across six shelves, that accuracy separates measured from approximated.

What size driver do I need for a multi-shelf run at 9W/m?

Total your metres, multiply by 9W, then add about 20% headroom. Five 900mm shelves come to 4.5 metres and 40.5W, so a 60W constant-voltage 24V driver suits. A full 15 metre run draws 135W and wants at least 162W of capacity to run cool.

Wire each shelf in parallel back to the driver, never in series. Never power the strip while it is still coiled on the reel, and insulate before fixing to a bare metal shelving unit. Size the load against our 24V constant-voltage drivers. It also works under a kitchen island shelf.

Orders placed before 1pm Monday to Friday are normally despatched the same working day when stock is available and no additional cutting or preparation time is required. Returns

Unused standard stock items may be returned within 15 days in their original, undamaged condition and packaging. Contact us before sending a return so the correct return route can be confirmed.

Made-to-measure, cut, mixed or otherwise personalised products cannot be cancelled or returned once preparation has started unless they are faulty. Full unused rolls and unused accessories, power supplies, controllers, drivers and profiles may be eligible for return. Modifying a product can invalidate its warranty, including removing the fitted plug from 220V/240V strip or neon flex.
