LED Drivers convert UK mains AC (240V) to the low-voltage DC required by LED strip — typically 12V, 24V, or 48V. The driver sets your strip's running voltage, brightness, dimming capability, and outdoor IP rating.

Driver sizing

Underspec'd drivers fail early. Overspec'd drivers waste capacity. The 20-30% headroom rule keeps the driver cool and extends its life.

Best for: Every LED strip install needs a driver. Match voltage + wattage + IP rating.
Avoid if: Mains-voltage strips (220V/240V — these have no external driver).
