Addressable LED Strip Lights (WS2811 / WS2812)

Addressable LED Strip — Digital Pixel or SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) LED Strip — gives each LED segment its own integrated controller chip. The result: chase patterns, pixel-level animation, gradient effects, and reactive lighting from a single data signal.

WS2811 vs WS2812? WS2811 controls groups of 3 LEDs per pixel. WS2812 has the controller built into each individual LED — true single-LED addressability for higher animation resolution.

Software: Madrix, Resolume, xLights, ESP32, Raspberry Pi compatible.

Best for: Signage, architectural features, audio-reactive installs, video-mapped output.
Avoid if: You need solid colour only (use standard RGB instead).
